What "S" in a name !
A few days ago, was in a pensive mood and walked down memory lane only to discover this fact.. surprising but true. . Here is a very starking thing I noticed about the people i know and have been closely or remotely acquainted with thru the years of my life... Either that my memory is just exceptional when it comes to remembering people whose name starts with "S" or it could be just a sheer co-incidence... However, believe me.. if there is something that most of my friends, family et al have had in common.... well most of their names start with the letter "S" and for good measure... Now what's so special about this letter... its the 19th letter of the English alphabet.. so what ???? Ok... its also the most curvy letter that i can think of.. (now thats a bad joke)... another very intersting aspect is that this count is extremely high when it comes to the so called 'fairer sex'... is it that Indian names have a greater affinity to "S" or is it my destiny to bump into such people.. Now here is an unbiased list of ladies that i have met willingly or otherwise who match the "S" criteria... (no pun intended).. U have no choice but to believe me.. this is not a made-up list. !!
supriya, shilpa, soumya (cousin and couple of friends), srividya, swapna, sapna, sneha, sunitha, sweety, sharmila, sumana, susha, sangeetha, savitri (aunt), sushma, simi, sunaina, saro (cousin), sheba, shirley, subbalakshmi, shyamala (aunt), smitha, sohini, suja (aunt), sukanya, shibani, shika, susheela, sreeja, shama, suchitra, swati.... now for my favourites - they are Sheela (cousin), sumitra, sampriti (my uncle's cute lil kid), seemanthini and Suchetha... and i'm sure i've forgotten many more that fit the "S" clan...
Though the numbers are not very prolific amongst the male breed... there are still a handful.. Sanjeev, shreyas, srikanth, shafeek, satish, sudarsan, sam et al...
Clearly the numbers indicate my affinity towards the "S" clan - just chirstened them so.. ain't that some discovery now.. kudos to self realization...
what dya think about this.. lemme know .. post ur comments.. help me understand better my tryst with the "S" clan...
