Bangalore says "We've lit our candles and wept our bit,NOW WE NEED ANSWERS"

Excerpt from the groups I created on Facebook and Orkut.... for benefit of those who are unable to access the above said....

http://www.facebook.com/inbox/?ref=mb#/group.php?gid=36840554685&ref=mf
----------------------------------------------------------

L n G, terrorism has seen new heights, we have all mourned our national loss, lit candles, observed a minute's silence and IS THAT IT? A city like Mumbai which is relatively well prepared compared to Bangalore could not deal with the attacks... how will the machinery in namma Bengaluru handle it... A words not been spoken for the blasts that happened in July, its almost 6 months now and we, the citizens of Bangalore have been taken for granted... no news emerging from our police forces yet... and what about the IISc case, where does that stand?

In the wake of the worst terror attack of our country in Mumbai, its important that we the people of Bangalore wake up and ASK questions to our Government, Chief Minister, Police and other Security chiefs...

Are they god damn sure there won't be another attack in Blr?
What are they doing?
What happened to the previous cases?
What have you found about the July 25 blasts?
How well is the state machinery prepared to handle / counter terror attacks?
What are they doing to prevent these attacks from happening?
Are the intelligence sources competent enough?
Are they equipped enough for a face-off if that happens?
Are they proactively watching out? or are we going to be scape goats again?
and many more questions....

last but important, what can I as a citizen of this city do to help our security forces? How can I help for my own safety and the safety of others?

LET US NOT WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS AND CRIB ABOUT OUR LOSSES THEN, LET'S ACT NOW AND ACT FAST... ITS EQUALLY OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS THE GOVERNMENT'S / SECURITY FORCES... LETS ASK QUESTIONS...

on the Sunday 7th DEC 08, let us all meet at Anil Kumble Circle at 4 PM and ASK OUR QUESTIONS.... let this be a peaceful but powerful and provocative gathering, one that's proactive and not reactive... WE WILL MAKE BANGALORE SAFER, WE WILL MAKE INDIA SAFER AND NO TERROR AGENT WILL BREAK US...

I REQUEST YOU ALL TO PASS ON THIS MESSAGE TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND MOBILIZE AS MANY PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE.... THE LARGER THE NUMBERS THE BETTER... THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME OUT TO READ THIS, LET US ALL MEET AS PLANNED AND GET OUR ANSWERS.

THIS IS NO CASTE, NO CREED, NO RELIGION, NO RACE, NO LANGUAGE, NO NATIONALITY GATHERING.... ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO FIGHTS TERROR AND NEED ANSWERS, BE THERE...

This is an open group, anyone can join, anyone can invite anyone..

The Kodai Experience

Only a day now since I returned from Kodaikanal.... and i'm yearning to be back there.... The pollution free experience bowled me over... clean air and silence, something vitally missing in namma bengaluru.. I wanna be back there... I'm thinking right now... lemme make some gud money and buy a cottage out there...

T'was a long drive.... we left Bangalore last Friday morn and drove all the way to Trichy.... the roads were 50 - 50.... well.. i mean gud half way thru only.... there was a small thanksgiving to the Lord Almighty and hence u c my new avatar.... Next day we drove to Pazhani... overnight there and then took the Kodai trail.... Me feels, Kodai is much better than Ooty since its sparsely populated and there's absolutely no noise... a perfect honeymoon retreat :)

My mom cudnt take the cold.... n i got some 25+ calls from my office.... hence a holiday cut short... darn these projects... wonder y they eat into ur personal time too ??????

A walk with dad and sis during the spine chilling night.... man t'was some experience !!!!!!

Rama Shama Bhama !!!!!

Hmmm... long time since I wrote a movie review...

T'was quite unbelievable that i actually watched a Kannada movie in the theatres for the first time in my life..

Well u may call me biased.. but the fact remains... King Kamal rocks.. in any language.. I was taken aback with the ease and perfection to which he delivered Hubli-Dharwad Kannada... he's one hell of a versatile artist.. kudos kamal..

Though a remake of tamil super hit "Sati Leelavati"... i just could not miss it and should admit was worth the money spent on PVR for the first time..

everyone has performed well.. no prizes for guessing who stole the show...

Vazhga Kamal..

Anniyan !!!!!

Anniyan... shankar's latest movie... well I should admit it was more like "Indian - Part 2", bear in mind Vikram is no Kamal Hassan.. Having said that Vikram has put in a spirited performance.. and talk about class, Shankar's right up there.. He's the winner.... good movie.. good fun... gr8 music... awesome photography.... Bollywood wake up !!

Indy F1 .. so screwed up...

How I wish the Indianapolis F1 race never happened... I've never seen anything like this in all my 11 years of following F1.. was a real shame though... and I really pity all the spectators who paid $100 + just to get a glimpse of their fav cars.... Sad race.... Schumi won... ya right !! was there any competition???? Well i'm confused... was it incompetent on part of Michelin or was it selfish motto behind Ferrari that made the race so screwed up as it was.... Narain finished 4th out of 6 cars... wish he does that some day when there are all 20 cars runnin...

In short.. Bad day for F1... day to forget really !!!!

The Hunter and The Hunted !!

Now that its official, Kamal Hassan's new movie is to hit the BO sometime August or early September if "reliable sources" are to be believed. 'Vettaiyaadu, Vilaiyaadu' may not set the screen on fire, but one is assured of quality from a combo such as Goutam, Harris, Jeeva and ofcourse Kamal. One is eager to find out who is the Hunter and who is the Hunted, but for sure the fans are to be Haunted (jus trying my hand at verse) !!

Recap: MX might not have fared all that well compared to 'Chandramukhi' or 'Sachein', lets not forget, Kamal means Class whilst the latter stand for Mass.... sums it up i guess.. whats ur take ????

Kamal && Kannada !!

Hmmmm... unbelievable but true... Kamal Hassan's doin a Kannada movie... remake of his Tamil Hit "Sati Leelavati".... hope the same fun is present in Namma version also...

Traffic ... Traffic and more Traffic....

I need a break from Bangalore's crazy traffic.. anyone who disagrees?

Wing View !!!

Moved into our new office space a fortnight ago.... the travel time apart... should admit is a pretty decent place... plush interiors and yet to be completely made up... it overlooks the airport and one wouldn't be surprised if you found more aeroplanes than cars... the roaring jets fly really low as they prepare to land or take off.... some Wing View it is !!!

oops... almost forgot the Silver Arrow -->

Mc Laren's back and set to rock... i surely enjoyed last week's Spanish Grand Prix and was a pleasant sight to watch Kimi all the way to the chequered flag..... way to go McLaren.... wish Mika was there too and looking for more... Beware... the "Silver Arrow" is back !!

Am I not disappointed ???????

Well..... the title sez it all..... been trying my best to catch up with a ton of friends and just dont seem to materialise.... efforts in vain for the 7th week in a row.... well on the brighter side of things... my pal Kiran is back from Mumbai.... a much deserved break for him from his MBA sessions and hopefully should meet him this weekend....

Friday the 13th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dya realise...... 2day's Friday the 13th......... not that i belong to the superstitious breed but just wondering wats in store.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... any stories on your side.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back after a Hiatus !!!

Its been almost a month now and jus back to blogging. The reason for the break.... well no substantial one.. but should admit was quite disappointed with a few happenings or should I say disappointment due to non-happenings... Nevertheless.... back and set to rock.... pray nothing comes over me yet again to break my blogging efforts.

Mumbai Xpresss ...... The Kings Rock !!

When the two kings of the industry get together, its nothing but pure bliss and its no different in Mumbai Xpress. Well, I'm talking about Kamal and Isaignani Ilaiyaraja.. Man these kings rock !!

A simple story and great screenplay make this movie an truly enjoyable one... The soundtrack of the movie is excellent and goes along with the mood of the movie... The music is simply pure bliss... what else does one expect from the "Raja"... You will be extremely disappointed if you are looking for regular masala of the likes of Rajani and Vijay... No build up song ... no crap.. The music is clean and all based on Jazz.... The Raja proves why he is one.. The songs are different and completey unpredictable compared to the noise churned out by the "music directors" imported from Telugu and otherwise movie after movie.. this track "Poo Poothadhu" is a simply superb melody which is set to linger in your mind for a long time to come.... Long Live Raja....

For all you Bollywood fans.. this is not for you... please dont be dissappointed for the lack of "khan" crap... no 100 dancers in skimpy clothes with remixed music that will make you deaf.. this is not the "king khan' but the Emperor Kamal.... Dont expect meadows in foriegn lands that you falsely think will soothe your eyes.. not to forget... no going in circles around trees or wet dance sequences in a disc... if you want to look at the real Mumbai.. then you may want to watch this movie... I dont think you will like the music either since you are immune to simple, plain, good music... Kamal makes the whole Bollywood eat humble pie with his unmatched histrionics... Bollywood open your ears and eyes, but keep ur dumb mouths shut and learn a few lessons before you churn out another movie whacked out or 4 or 5 Hollywood and South Indian flicks.... and as for you Bollywood audiences..... I really wonder when you will alter your currently filthy taste....

My brain works .... still !!!!!

Ain't this some sort of pleasure.. Never before have i done scripting in Java, nor in HTML ... wanted to experiment.. took a few online tutorials in Java CSS and HTML.... studied the source code in my blog.. made a few changes here and there... wrote a few lines of code... inserted them hoping they are in the right place.... took me some thinking.. and then bingo.... my script works..... the trailing text when the mouse is moved works just fine .... worth the few hours spent on it... I can code... my brain works....... still !!!!!

Aman Sethu .... The Bridge of Peace

Having followed the day long proceedings, one really wonders if all this is really required or is it mere hype. I'm talking about the so called "Caravan of Peace" buses between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad. The move by both nations to enhance transport links is definitely a welcome one, however only time will reveal if this service is to last or will it go down the drain like the Delhi - Lahore bus service or the Samjauta Express Train. Both these services were flagged off in as much fanfare as todays Srinagar -- Muzzafarabad bus service, now they cease to exist or atleast temporarily. Hats off to the brave 19 who finally crossed the LoC and entered PoK (how much I hate to call it so). Neither the militant threats nor the grenade attack enroute at a place called Pathan dampened their spirits, also hats off to the people who crossed over from the other side of LoC and to the two governments who did not give in to the ultras' threats.

Hope the "Caravan of Peace" exits forever and the "Aman Sethu" (Bridge of Peace) stands true to its name. Jai Hind !

What "S" in a name !

A few days ago, was in a pensive mood and walked down memory lane only to discover this fact.. surprising but true. . Here is a very starking thing I noticed about the people i know and have been closely or remotely acquainted with thru the years of my life... Either that my memory is just exceptional when it comes to remembering people whose name starts with "S" or it could be just a sheer co-incidence... However, believe me.. if there is something that most of my friends, family et al have had in common.... well most of their names start with the letter "S" and for good measure... Now what's so special about this letter... its the 19th letter of the English alphabet.. so what ???? Ok... its also the most curvy letter that i can think of.. (now thats a bad joke)... another very intersting aspect is that this count is extremely high when it comes to the so called 'fairer sex'... is it that Indian names have a greater affinity to "S" or is it my destiny to bump into such people.. Now here is an unbiased list of ladies that i have met willingly or otherwise who match the "S" criteria... (no pun intended).. U have no choice but to believe me.. this is not a made-up list. !!

supriya, shilpa, soumya (cousin and couple of friends), srividya, swapna, sapna, sneha, sunitha, sweety, sharmila, sumana, susha, sangeetha, savitri (aunt), sushma, simi, sunaina, saro (cousin), sheba, shirley, subbalakshmi, shyamala (aunt), smitha, sohini, suja (aunt), sukanya, shibani, shika, susheela, sreeja, shama, suchitra, swati.... now for my favourites - they are Sheela (cousin), sumitra, sampriti (my uncle's cute lil kid), seemanthini and Suchetha... and i'm sure i've forgotten many more that fit the "S" clan...

Though the numbers are not very prolific amongst the male breed... there are still a handful.. Sanjeev, shreyas, srikanth, shafeek, satish, sudarsan, sam et al...

Clearly the numbers indicate my affinity towards the "S" clan - just chirstened them so.. ain't that some discovery now.. kudos to self realization...

what dya think about this.. lemme know .. post ur comments.. help me understand better my tryst with the "S" clan...

Narain Out.... so was Ferrari !

T'was dissapointing to c Mr. Fastest Indian get off track too early in the race.. but none to blame but his car.. Having followed f1 since days of Ayrton Senna, looks like this year is heading for a interesting close.. Toyota's been a great revelation.. kudos to Toyota, only the second year in f1 and they are rocking.. F2005 from ferrari looked threatening.. but thats all it did.. wasn't I a happy man... I'm no Ferrari fan.. Lord O lord... Merc guys give ur McLaren some more Horsepower.. dont like to c u guys underperform.. Kimi needs more legs... He's the guy to watch out and McLaren's my fav.. good to c u guys on a comeback though..

Narain.. well he's struggled to get to f1.. Have watched him race in F3000 and Nissan world series for Carlin Motorsport.. he's a very agile driver and has got what it takes to be in f1.. well he's an expert during wet weather.. no rains yet in f1 this season.. let's wait and watch... and the Indian flag on his helmet looks cool and makes me proud... wonder why Indian sports ministry thinks its disrespect to have Indian flag on sports gear.. have you noticed.. the small flag on Sachin's helmet is missin coz this rule..

Its been a great day..

Well... thanks to the rain Gods.. Bangalore is cool again.. could not bear the heat over the last few weeks and am sure as most bloreans would agree... we need more rain.. so dear Mr. Rain God.. shower us with ur blessings..

To add to it.. did get to speak with someone close who has been very elusive for sometime now.. and a smooth drive in this pleasant weather.. could I ask for more...
